wtf are you talking about anon778? That whole montage actually happened. That's the whole reason she was never able to get enough time to make Twilight's dress was because she kept getting roped into those events. She was supposed to have something like a week in canterlot and every day had someone else insisting she come to their event. |

I'm pretty sure Rarity has known from the moment Spike met her that he has a serious crush on her. She just refuses to acknowledge it because anything she would say would break his heart and make her look callous and unfeeling. And Rarity is FAR too refined and dignified a pony to allow that to happen.
It's one thing to toy with your random stallion, quite another to play with affections of someone who really does have feelings for you. |

No one really knows when Rarity started to notice Spike's crush on her.
I'd like to go for the simplest answer that she only took notice when Spike gave her his fire ruby. She did say it was the single most generous act she has ever experienced in her entire life and stuff like that leaves an impression. |

She's always known he has a crush on her, the only thing that has been up in the air is if she feels that it's something to take seriously or not.
Also, it's pretty obvious that being crushed on is not a new experience for her, and also not one she hasn't used to her advantage either, so most likely she has seen his crush as simply part of being her, and she'll allow him to indulge in his desired to serve her with rewards of appropriate modesty to show that she appreciates him, without really leading him on. Most likely the fire ruby deal just pushed her opinion of his crush up to more than just puppy love though. |
