And it's nice that Gyarados is still an amazing Pokemon. He's been top-tier since the beginning.
But what's terrifying is how common Magikarp is, and how common Gyarados are. These furious, bloodthirsty sea serpents are literally infesting Kanto, Johto and Hoenn's waterways. These monsters are know to raze coastal villages to dust. |

I've seen the Belly Drum Magikarp trick though.

Here's a thought - maybe all the magikarp in the pokeworld
are actually ones that were "thrown away" by their trainers and, basicly turned them into the embodiment of pure rage and hate. And when they evolve and have "children" they tell them the tale of how no trainer wants them, so when they evolve they turn into demons themselves.
