^^What still baffles me is why Riku seemed to have the power to just fork them over. And where the hell did Kairi's blade go??
The blunt answer as to what they exactly are: my guess is that it's a physical manifestation of one's will (ie, their "heart," metaphorically speaking), but special magic/genetics/training/disposition/will/whoknows is required besides just having a strong will/heart/mind/whatthefuckever. That it's pure 'light' from the bearer's heart, but like a Patronus, it's an anathema to dark-sided beings like the Heartless, and with humans (like in the Hercules fight, or against any of the FF characters), like any other non-metaphorical clash of wills, it saps them of their will to fight instead of killing them (as well as the blunt trauma damage). |
