Rape fics generally bug me because they either try and glorify it and make it seem justified (hint, rape is never justified) or they make it as horrible as possible for the sake of entertainment. Like I said, as a plot device I'm okay with it. As entertainment? Nonconsensual rape is terrible and you should feel terrible for enjoying it. |

I no longer read "serious" explicit fics but when I did I could handle rape if it was portrayed in an unrealistic fantasy style where nopony really got hurt.
If it was portrayed realistically I found it sickening and disturbing, UNLESS the victim themselves turned out to have a fetish for it. Rape as a storyline plot point was even worse because I can't discard the story as a clopfic so it hits harder. Like if the fic is ABOUT ponies getting raped, whatever, not my thing. But if the fic is an epic action adventure and half way through OMG MANE 6 RAPE, that sucks. Of course, since it's all written fantasy it's all "fantasy rape" anyway no matter how realistically it's portrayed. I actually have mild non-con/dub-con fetish myself, but I prefer it portrayed as an acted out fantasy like in live human porn. In the realm of fiction the events are "real" to the characters and I just enjoy seeing characters I am so emotionally invested in harmed like that. That said the worst rapefic IMO is "punishment" by Anon in which the Mane 6 "force" Big Mac to rape Trixie for her actions in Boast Busters. The only rapefic I LIKED (because of the story not the rape) was The Rerapening by Hoss because it links in with a couple of RagingSemi's stories to show the origin of and final eradication of Scootabuse. |
