Oh my god, it's a Big Mouth Billy Bass. Four relatives each sent me one of those when they came out.

Did I mention I'm from a rural family line that makes the Apple family look cosmopolitan?

The ending WAS that horrible. It trivializes like 30 hours worth of gameplay choices. No matter what, you die and most of the galaxy dies.

^Actually if you play MP it gets much easier to survive at the end. Same for most parts of the galaxy, but for some races it depends on your decisions during the third game. I was pretty shocked when i accidently let all Hanars and Drell get wiped out by the Reapers.^^;

One of my issues less so than the choose red green or blue explosions is that the one option where you're implicitly told you will die is the one option that in fact shows you surviving with enough resources. So me purposely choosing to kill myself to end the threat ends with me not killing myself. I was so angry and so confused I just out and out deleted the save file. (not the full save file, just up to ME3)

I used to have one of those fish. Mounted to go off when I walked in the door. It was a good way to come home.

^You end the Reaper threat, but at the expense of pretty much everything. Basically no matter what you do, the Mass Relays are destroyed in three slightly different ways depending on your choice (referred to as the Green, Blue, and Red endings), stranding everyone at their current location, Shepard dies in every ending except one (where s/he's barely alive and stranded in the middle of god knows where), and the Normandy and your crew crash land on a mysterious jungle planet with zero chance of rescue (Inferred Holocaust, anyone?)

In essence, the entire Mass Effect franchise as you know it ceases to exist (lack of mass relays and all), and everything you ever did is rendered pointless.

The fandom is PISSED. It's actually pretty unprecedented how unanimous it is.

Really, all you did was spare future galactic civilizations the Reapers. Any in Shepard's are pretty much fucked, especially since ME2 shows that mass relay explosions are powerful enough to destroy whatever solar system they're in (do the math on that one).
