I'll admit, I can't really see any of the main cast as Black Americans (I refuse on principle to call them "African-Americans", that's exclusively for people who have immigrated to the US from Africa or people who are second/third/or fourth generation immigrants). Other races? Sure, just not Black American.
However, I really like the way this artist tried to make a African Pinkie Pie. Not my personal interpretation, but still, rather nicely done. The contrast between the pink hair and the dark skin is a nice touch. |

Black Pinkie makes sense to me. She's bombastic, larger than life in everything she does and loves to have a good time. She's an over the top party girl. And where I live there are a lot of girls like that, who happen to be black. |

I personally don't see Pinkie Pie as a black girl (not racist or anything, I'm friends with people of many different races) BUT I do really like this picture. It's well done and a very cute style. Good job! |

Every time trolls spout racist bullshit on ponibooru, it makes me like the brown-skinned versions of the characters that much more. The girl in the art looks like someone who'd be fun to hang out with, and not just because she seems enough of a decent human being to not be racist. |
