I'm going to not avert the topic and actually say my headcanons:
Twilight - Biracial. Her dad is the son of White, German immigrants and her mom is Indian. Rarity - Black. For some reason her parents are White in my head-canon.. Recessive genes? Adoption? Rainbow Dash - No headcanon. She can be whatever. Fluttershy - White. Applejack - White. Pinkie Pie - White Mexican. Spike - Black. So, yea. That's for the G4 mane cast.  |

It depends on the artist. Most artists instictively give humanized ponies the physical appearance of their own race. It might not be that much racism but the fact that they can draw better what they know.
I think pretty much every option works on every pony. With the exception of characters like Zecora or Applejack who are based on a certain ethnicity. Other than that it is about creativity and artistic freedom, folks! 8D |

Except for the ones who definitely don't have American accents, they are all white Americans.
Apart from Zecora, I have a very difficult time trying to picture skin tones that aren't Caucasian. I really hope this doesn't come off as racist. |

Dash...I dunno, somehow she just seems Latino to me, and always has. Rarity's Italian-ness mostly comes from the fact that I've always said her human name should be Diana. Pinkie is just white. She is. That's all there is to it. I don't do the whole waifu thing, but Fluttershy seems like she matches the shy and quiet, but intelligent stereotype oriental girls tend to have. And finally Applejack. I honestly think she's got other races in her somewhere, but probably not enough to make a difference. |

Twilight: Japanese, slim figure, B cup Pinkie Pie: Italian, chubby but very curvy, E cup PynkyPy: healthy weight and curvy Applejack: American farm girl, big strong plot of steel!, C cup Fluttershy: Japanese, Hootershy!, F cup Rainbow Dash: Puerto Rican, white skin tone, slim and athletic, somewhere between A and C cup Zecora: African black Sapphire Shores: Bi-racial Black Alicorns: Aliens Celestia: 7ft tall with curves so perfect you'll beg to be molested! white skin Luna: about 6ft tall, curvy but her rack is not as big as her sister's, that um gothic grayish-white skin tone. Rarity: American, and looks exactly like this  |

Twilight Sparkle: Caucasian, and absurdly pale, gradually becoming less pale over the series.
Rainbow Dash: Caucasian, also perpetually pale but far less than Twilight. Rarity: Caucasian, very English. Born to a Brit and a Canadian. American accent required little practice and eventually became natural. Pinkie Pie: Hispanic descent, browned skin from SO MANY OVENS. Fluttershy: Hispanic descent.
