Tartarus is a prison for Minor evils. Basically the difference between an Ursa Minor and Major. |

Luna got her own prison. It's called The Moon.
And Discord... I don't think there's much any prison could do against him. Still.... considering they freely fraternize with dragons and allow manticores and hydras to go free in the Everfree forest... What kind of scary shit must BE in Tartarus? |

@Psycho
Cthulhu? Slenderman? |
| Psychopomf #1121296 4 months ago |
@Yorec
Maybe something Slendermanish. It has to be dangerous enough to keep locked away yet not so dangerous it needs to be imprisoned all on its own |

@psyco The G3.5 toys and merchandise. |

That's where all the humans were sent, not even Discord deserves that! |

I wonder if they'll ever have a Beholder monster in MLP. Now that would be scary for a show like this. |

Because Discord can be useful when Celestia needs her "needs" met *hint hint* |

My canon pins Tartarus the equivalent of both Azkaban and that warehouse they put the Ark of the Covenant in. |

The three most dangerous beings sealed behind the gate are the Goatse Man, Tubgirl, and the Harlequin Fetus. |
| SirDudesalot #1124561 4 months ago |
Discord technically isn't evil, though. He's chaotic.
And putting the avatar of chaos in a pit where a bunch of all-powerful abominations are going at each other forever would probably turn out badly. |

No, he's evil. Chaotic Evil |

@Pomf: Tirek. Or other Tirek-tier villains. |

Somepony, however twisted, with sense enough to organize the greatest threats to Equestria, being imprisoned along with them, when she knows the entire security setup. What could have gone wrong?
Also, some beings are vital to the universe existing, but very disruptive/destructive, so you imprison them, rather then kill them. See Discord. |

The reason NmMoon wasn't put there was because she had Luna inside her, and Celestia had to hope she could see her sister again some day.
As for Discord, well... Could this same line of reasoning be the case as well? |
