They were never trying to make it "for little girls".

How can you be a brony and not know that?

The show has never been for little girls. It's for little girls and their parents. Or it is generally for everyone. But I know what you mean, because of the little girls toys, and the show being an advertisement for that.
I hope that the little girls of today will be very badass and cool big girls in the future!

Also, I read on TVtropes that the "solid snake"-thing isn't a metal gear reference.
I don't really know anything about that though.

Well, to be honest, they never were actually making this for little girls, they had already came out and said they make this show for their own entertainment, they just had to make it tame enough for little kids to watch. Now that they have an adult following however, they know they can thow in some pretty vague references that the audiance will still get it

Have you seen the adult jokes they put in shows like Animaniacs? MLP is just following a time homered tradition .

You guys are starting to sound very conceited and entitled.

That the staff is throwing us references doesn't mean the show is brony focused not.Get that thing out of your heads.

Thi is not the only show that does that you know?

The show is still for little girls.

WTF guys?

It's true that Lauren and the Staff made this show to be enjoyed by the parents as well.

But remember that Lauren specifically wanted to make this show a GODD GIRLS show.Keep that in mind.

FiM is not only a girl show is a good show.

OP have you ever watched shows like Animaniacs when you where younger, there was lots joke and references in it that kid wouldn't understand, now you can go back and enjoy what you never understood now that your older, it didn't mean it wasn't for kids.

I love the "girl" stuff and the references.

One of my favorite episodes, for example, is art of the dress.

The idea is that they are making a good show that is fun to watch. Whether that means more fashion shows or more incidents with mythical baddies; it's all quite alright with me.

I being able to go from fashion and parties in one episode to defeated the lord of chaos in another. It does so many things so right.

When we say "It's not for little girls" we dont mean "THIS SHOW IS FOR MEN"

we mean it's not "FOR LITTLE GIRLS", as in FOR and ONLY FOR, like earlier gens.

Little girls (and i mean really little, like my three year old niece) just like the colours and funny voices. The show is for us, the ones babysitting them.

After she stops caring about MLP I don't know what we'll watch together. Somehow she doesn't like Breaking Bad and I'm certainly not gonna watch Lazy Town or Barney.

Bronies are the most self-entitled fucktards on the internet.

Yes, those are all references for us. But you're deluding yourself if you think the show is suddenly for us more than it is a big toy advertisement.

The show still isn't Animaniacs level getting crap past the radar. They once had a joke that went like this:

Yes, it sounded like "finger Prince". Yes, that kind of fingering. FiM has nothing on Animaniacs.

It's hard to enjoy it like this, man.

Could you believe that when they showed the preview of this episode,a lot of them were jizzing their pants becuase they thought there were referencing Fallout:Equestria?

I actually agree with Impious.Bronies can get incredibly self-entitled.

Not accepting this is a Girls show? Simply stupid.

no, anon. most people were making cute references in most posts. There are a few crazies who take fanon too seriously, but you need to stop grouping the vast majority of fans who do not even have a fanon interpretation. I agree fanon maniacs are annoying, but they just make a lot of noise

^ Then I must have been in the wrong places at the wrong time because I swear it was like a collective orgasm of something evil.

I'm glad they are just the minority, though.I'll just have to think they are simply just not informed abuot the staff not being allowed to read fanfics.

"Cream dream" never heard of it before until I saw the chat during the stream.

... Then it was followed by a "pedobear sniffs your underwear" commercial. I lold. The fans make the episodes better or worse for some people.

Most pony boards are kind of infested with made up fan outrage, that is for certain. Even if the majority may not be stuck up fanon crazies, fan sites are kind of cluttered with a few people trying to dominate any discussion. I do think the fans have to look at that behavior as an aberration.
