You're forgetting a few important things:
- timetravel is possible - Starswirl is so important he has a whole wing dedictated to his works. - There're ancient evils sealed away - Twilight seems to have unrestricted access in Canterlot, and that's not a "d'uh of course, she's the number 1 pupil of Celestia"-issue. - Ninja Pinkie ! xD |

Given that they use the same days of the week we do (even though, funny enough, we've only ever heard them mention Tuesday), I'm willing to scratch off the calendar as artistic convenience. |

I'm pretty sure that their weeks don't really only have five days in them. They probably only drew in those 15 boxes so that it'll be easier to fit Twilight's cursive inside each of them. Otherwise, it'll be too small for people to notice that she uses cursive style writing or they wouldn't have fit it all in. |
