Scootaloo is Big Mac and Fluttershy's daughter from the future, she convinced Twilight to send her back in time to prevent Rainbow Dash from dying in a tragic accident in the future, but an even more tragic and horrific cataclysm type event occurred just as Twilight was finishing the spell, so she wound up sending Scoots too far back and permanently.
This is why you never see Scootaloo's parents. |
