Well to be honest I'd probably have the exact same reaction if Fluttershy started rubbing my tummy.

This was the best episode ever. All it needed was to replace the re-used animation with a clip of Derpy letting this dog out and it would have been a landmark in animation.

TARTARUS is canon. It's not the same as the Christian Hell.

Hades is Hell think of Tartarus as a place much worse and much more ancient than that it's basically hell for gods

If Cerberus is cannon, I wonder if we will ever see Centaurs or Titans.
A Chimera will show up soon enough I bet.

Should have seen that one coming. Cerberus... Minotaur... Pegasi... It's all Greek to me. Can't wait for the man-eating ponies.

I'm going with Barnard because Barnard 33 is the name for the horse head nebula
Or Ponytus because its a pun on Pontus the primordial god of the sea

Well there were lots of greek culture what with the pillars on the pegasi clouds

And pegasi themselves basically being Spartans with Unicorns being Athenians.

Still. I now want to see Pony Charon and Princess Persephone

CottonTales: They're more likely to use Ponydon.

Imagine, if you will, a great bearded horse rising from the depths, a trident at its hoof, roaring:

SHOO BE DOO

Well we see a Hydra, Manticore, a Minotaur and some other. Now a/the Cerberus. Only a matter of time to see some other legendary creatures like a Sphinx or a Chimera.
I would like to see some other the Greek ones. Like some asian creatures like a shape-shifting Tanuki.
Gargoyles would be cool too.

So if Hades and Zeus are canon, how do we know Rainbow Dash wasn't another creation of the mark of Zeus?

All that was really confirmed is that Tartarus is a prison guarded by Cerberus in the MLP:FIM universe. It might not even be afterlife-related, though it would be interesting if it was. My new headcanon is that all the nastiest G1 villains are locked in there.

As for why Discord's statue wasn't locked away there, well, you saw how he was able to escape. Chances are, it would probably be easier for him to escape in the negative environment of a prison. And it makes sense that Celestia and Luna would keep his statue somewhere they could always see it.

Hrm.

I'd almost like this idea more.

A giant mythological prison or realm where Cerberus acts as gate guardian, keeping things from coming out or going in.
