Thunder hits everything for quite some distance(since it's actually the sound of lightning and thus a wave spreading in all directions away from the lightning). But I don't know of lightning could hit her, since lightning hits planes because they are below/inside the cloud layer. Though her ears would hurt if it was a lightning storm right below her. |

No, Lightning can definitely hit her, since there are lightning bolts that can shoot straight up. |

Lightning travels from high negative charge (The clouds) to anywhere were there is neutral or positive charge, (Generally to neutral)
Unless Derpy took a bath in electrons, she's getting hit, but as we well know, Derpy is lightning resistant, so she'll be fine. |
