superichigo, she has always been called Derpy, ever since /co/ discovered her.
The Ditzy Doo name comes from a later episode for an off-screen character, people adopted it as a possible canon name for Derpy. Derpy was not renamed to Ditzy in the censored version of "The Last Roundup". Therefore, Ditzy is still an alternative nickname with no canon backing. Derpy is, and always be, her original name, bestowed upon her by fans. Please take your time to learn history, especially when it is to do with the fandom's mascot and embodiment of all things good left in humanity. |

Ditzy and Derpy are both fine. There's no 'issue' to choose between the two. It's just made up drama as far as I can tell. If one isn't 'offensive', the other shouldn't be as well. |

I prefer to call her Derpy, but I'm okay if you prefer Ditzy Doo.
Just keep in mind that she is canonically called Derpy, and in the censored version, her name was ommited, not changed. |

She was always "Ditzy Derpy Doo" to me.... some people can call you by your first name, some can call you by your middle name as a nickname.
InB4 "What parent would name their child Derpy?!" It's a cute and silly name for a pony with cute silly eyes. Remember, It's just a show about cute cartoon ponies, go cry about it elsewhere. |
