What resistance said, I'm pretty sure at this point that all Hellgast weaponry runs on pure magic, changing the magazines is not even necessary, your character does it out of habit |

Helical magazines, while uncommon, are very real. Check out the Calico 9mm carbine. |

^ has nothing to do with the magazine, there's no room for the action inside the gun, the mag loads rounds into it from it's rear, meaning there's no room for the bolt to actually be there. |

notice two sets of ammunition. The front one is fed into the gun and the action comes behind that. the rear set of ammunition is the "next magazine" ready to be moved forwards into the feeding position.
