Honestly I think these are kind of dumb, but I want at least one of these things where the person behind it explains their reasoning. All too often you just get a bunch of bizarre picture pairings that in many cases tell you nothing.

Cutie Mark Crusaders - FCW: A group mostly consisting of interchangeable (though mostly in season one) youngsters who haven't yet carved out their niche in life.

Spike - Josh Matthews: Spike steps into the commentary duties fairly often, and he tends to be a bit too straight forward to be somepony like Michael Cole. With that in mind it comes down to either Josh or Scott Stanford, and Spike's much too dorky at times to be the latter.

Celestia - Theodore Long: The benevelont ruler. Theodore Long and Princess Celestia are pretty much the most good-slanted rulers you'll come across, but they do have a tendency of screwing around with their subjects - in Teddy's case mostly heels. Plus with how big she is on friendship Celestia might be able to identify with Long's love for tag teams.

Luna - William Regal: The overlooked ruler. William Regal can be weird and off the wall, and a lot of his humor like Luna comes from being a bit too formal compared to those around him. No word on if Luna has conjoined twin daughters she keeps locked in the attic. Plus they're both royalty.

Nightmare Moon - John Laurinaitis: The invasive force trying to take total control. Nightmare Moon somehow manages to be a lot less quirky and flat than her good counterpart, compared to John Laurinaitis whose primary characterization has him as a complete stick-in-the-mud.

Discord - Kane: Discord may be a lot cheerier than Kane is, but both re-emerged after away time with the intention of screwing with and corrupting the main characters. The main differences being that Discord actually succeeded for a time, and Kane mostly did physical damage to a third party.

Twilight Sparkle - Zack Ryder: Twilight's a nerd. That's pretty clear, and she's also one of the more technologically-proficient members of the cast, which makes her an appropriate fit for the goofy, boy-band loving Zack Ryder who became a big deal via his Youtube show. Plus they both wear (or are) purple.

Rainbow Dash - John Cena: Both stress the importance of loyalty, and while Rainbow Dash probably doesn't have a lot of respect for other ponies hustle she definitely has in abundance. Plus she's the one pony who can keep up with Cena for his wide range of colors.

Applejack - Jim Ross: The local southern voice of reason. Applejack is treated more respectfully in the position, but like JR she does bring a simple, southern style to things. And in a manner of speaking she's a hall of famer to the series, being one of the few holdovers from the old days.

Granny Smith - Booker T: While Jim Ross is the respectable southern commentator with a good head on his shoulder, Booker T is completely insane. Is it that hard to imagine Granny Smith randomly yelling things like, "Sop'im up with a biscuit!" or, "Shucky ducky quack quack!"?

Pinkie Pie - Santino Marella: The goofy, friendly ones, who can essentially screw around with luck and what qualifies as reality so long as it benefits them. Both are anything but defenseless, as the Element of Laughter and the Cobra will attest.

Fluttershy & Angel - AJ & Daniel Bryan: Fluttershy is meek and quiet, but with the ability to stand up for herself; much like AJ, who while not a shy type happily goes along with whatever her boyfriend Daniel Bryan tells her to do despite being a wrestler in her own right. Much like Bryan, Angel can be condescending and somewhat on the abusive side, and he's very picky in his strictly vegan diet.

Derpy Hooves - Hornswoggle: The other character. This one's pretty much treated entirely for laughs, and isn't as frequent in appearing. Both are also prone to invoking disproportionant amounts of backlash from viewers.

Iron Will - The Rock: Do I have to explain it? The case has been made for this plenty.

Zecora - Kofi Kingston: Both Kofi and Zecora are generally smiling but with the ability to get serious in a hurry when needed. Given how helpful she is Zecora clearly has no trouble with socializing, while Kofi similarly has had plenty of allies and tag partners throughout his career. Plus they're both the token African / Mareangetti friend.

Trixie - Eve: Manipulative and proud of it. Trixie's at least more interested in doing work for herself than mooching off of men the way Eve does, though. Unintentional but observed that by these standards Twilight and Trixie made out this week.

Gilda - Chris Jericho: Gilda considers herself cool and the ultimate in everything she does, but she's very quick to turn bitter when prompted. Much like Jericho since returning she isn't the time to pass over an opportunity to note when she did something before someone else.

Silver Spoon & Diamond Tiara - The Bella Twins: There are two of them and they tend to be snobby and look down on people. Both pairs also have somewhat touchy poses, but between Silver Spoon's appreciation for Granny Smith's story and the Bellas being disturbed by Eve's manipulation, they do at least have some redeeming qualities.

Owlowiscious - Jinder Mahal: No matter how much you jazz them up they're still boring as hell.

@BattleGT: As I explained it in the comments, both are southerners with a certain wisdom to them but at the same time a tendency to say bafflingly insane things. Plus both are mostly retired but occasionally get involved in their lines of work.

I just don't see Twi = Ryder. G.Smith = Booker T. WAT? Owlowisious = Ginder WAT!? The rest seem pretty spot on.

@PonyFlea: Completely different products, you can be a fan of both. Granted, I personally can't get into MMA at all.

I left Rarity out because I couldn't come up with a decent match for her, and I didn't want much in the way of shoehorning comparisons.

Fair enough. I think "Dashing" Cody Rhodes would've been a good Rarity match up though.
