Here are my opinions on this strip

a) She never said she didn't watch other cartoons; she just said that MLP is her favorite show; if you don't like it you should have said something like "I'm just not interested in this show, sorry".Instead you choose to rant about the "Glory Days".

b)Not all new animated shows today are crap.I admit there were better shows in the late 1990-Early 2000s but calling all new shows craps makes me think that the creator of this comic is high off his ass on nostalgia.

C) Also using a female to represent MLP fans? First time I've seen that.

d)Also do you realize how many references to older shows (most notably Simpsons and Spongebob) have been made in fan art? Saying Bronies that don't remember Old shows seems kinda foolish.

f)Who is this guy anyways?

g) I am completely aware that my post may warrant some "tl;dr" replies, but I wanted to give my opinion.

What an idiot. MLP brought us something new and fresh that ain't nostalgia driven (...or is it?). I'm so glad that we are over this "now days cartoon sucks!" era (it was like what 10 years).

Character development?

Like hell it does. Ready to see Fluttershy learn to stand up for herself for the fourth time in a few weeks?

Gotta love artists that really believe they know everything about everyone and try (and fail) to make an edgy comic about it, only to make themselves to like an ignorant douche to anyone with an IQ of at least 50.
I will agree Drawn Together was a fun show, not a good show, but a fun show.

@Fronzel debatable Just look at Rarity. And I don't necessarily think that just because it's a fluttershy episode it will be directly related to her standing up for herself.

Man, the "subjectivity" in that comic is so freaking apparent. Not one bit of "objectivity" at all to prove either side's point.

Oh and the whole "idiot says something stupid and I shut them up with my 'profound' wisdom" cliche was never funny in the first place. Why do webcomic artists persist in doing this?

Ren & Stimpy was gross.

Samurai Jack was awesome and I watched all of it.

Freakazoid was okay but tried too hard.

Never watched Rocko.

B:tAS was awesome as were the related Superman and Justice League series.

Animaniacs was great, I loved it.

. . .Betty Boop? . . .really? . . .you think that looked better? I mean, I couldn't speak to the characterization, never having seen more than clips of it.

90's X-Men cartoon was okay but nothing special.

Classics are classics, of course, but I've consumed enough of the genre to get the gist and they're not making any more of them.

Drawn Together was okay. I stopped watching after I stopped thinking the jokes had much taste.

Your move bro.

Uh, I watched all of those cartoons growing up. And that's the main reason I like FiM?

Why? Because it makes me feel like I'm watching those shows again. I haven't seen another show that come closest to the spirit of those old cartoons that I know and love.

Oh and I'm sorry but the art is awful. It is obvious that this 'artist' has never taken the time to learn proportions, something every show he named made use of. The background is wide, boring and empty, drawing a decent background and copying it is not hard, even MS Paint can do it. This is something I'd expect from a serious 14 year old in art class. At least he's honest with how he really looks, that's rare on the internet.

Eh, I was born in 95, and didn't have cable or satellite where I grew up.

I did have a collection of old Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny cartoons though.

Anyway, this guy's a shitty artist. And intolerant to boot.

Ren and stimpy freaked me out sometimes.

Samurai jack, YES

Freakazoid, animaniacs and the other warner brothers cartoons, loved then and still do.

Drawn together" was cool though the movie was a bit...wierd.
And cant forget the old cartoon network stuff (cow & chicken,PPG,Dexter's lab)

The rest, didnt really see, didn't get the Marvel and DC cartoons here,

But there are two cartoons i remember that nobody really talks about. "Pirates of dark water" and "SWAT Cats", anybody else watch these when they were kids?

Here's a valuable lessons for all the nostalgiafags out there, no matter how much you preach about it, no matter how much you rub into people's faces and say how much better it was than the stuff we have today, and no matter how much you wish it. The past will never return.

In the end you're just a hipster.

There's nothing wrong with taking off your nostalgia goggles for a change and looking forward to the future.

I'm a 90s dood here, remember all the great shows I grew up and all the great games, but I know how to move on. I don't desperately cling on to the past, I love MLP FiM like no tomorrow, and my favorite Pokemon Generation is the Fifth one so far. But I still remember Tom and Jerry n'stuff, and I still got my Pokemon Blue. But hey, that's just me.

Your move artist, but I doubt you'll see this.

Gummi Bears, Animaniacs, Avatar: Last Airbender, Tiny Toons, Pinky and the Brain, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, Reboot, Earthworm Jim, Scooby Doo (the original, and the series that had all the guest appearances, basically anything that still had velma), Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, Goof Troop, Quack Pack, Aladdin, Gargoyles, Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Batman Beyond, Angry Beavers, and Invader Zim. Just for completing my personal faves list, I'm going to toss Freakazoid, Samurai Jack, and the various Merry Melody, Loony Tunes and other Warner Brother stuff.
I'm also going to toss Trigun into the list here. It may be an anime, but i find that every time someone brings up reasons to hate anime, this is the one series that seems to consistently remain completely unscathed.

I think MLP: FiM is safe.

Alright, here are some of my favorite cartoons other than Mulp Phim:
Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo, Ruroni Kenshin, Dexter's Lab, Ed, Edd, 'N' Eddy (probably my favorite cartoon ever), Animaniacs, Cow and Chicken, Clone High, The first season of Pokemon, Samurai Jack, Avatar: the Last Airbender, first three seasons or so of Fairly Odd Parents, Sheep in the Big City, Powerpuff Girls, Kappa Mikey, and yes, I enjoyed the hell out of DBZ on Toonami as a kid. I know I'm forgetting a few.
I don't know why this artist thinks that just because someone likes one show they can't enjoy others. What, just because it's MLP??
@Stargaser Yes, I remember SWAT Cats, I liked it back when. Too bad Ted Turner axed it before it could really get going.
