I'VE GOT IT!
Shining Armor isn't really Twilight's brother. Either he'll introduce himself to her as her long-lost brother that she never knew about, or she does have a long-lost brother that he's posing as. Either way, he'll be revealed as a fraud. |

The whole Shining Armor being Twilight's brother thing? There's a easy way to solve any problems related to that without taking much episode time:

Guys. It will never happen, but...
Cadence is Trixie in disguise. She poses as an exotic god-princess because she knows the love of her life "would never marry a filthy gypsy". The whole plot is the Mane 6 reconciling with her and helping her maintain her facade, or breaking it to Armor that the woman he loves isn't even a tenth of the mare he thinks she is. The moral would be that ponies can change, and love knows no boundaries or some sappy shit. Also, Twilight and Trixie being in-laws would be hilariously awkward. |

Well, according to the synopsis, ONE of them is probably going to be a fraud. It'd make sense if it was Cadence. I mean, suddenly third alicorn? And it feels like Studio B would do it just to troll Hasbro. "Put this pink princess in the finale. Sell toys." "Okay, but she's a fraud! :D"
That, or the wedding is somehow illegitimate. |

We didn't know Rarity had a sister or parents until they were introduced... I really don't see why Twilight having a brother is a big conflicting deal. |
