I'd really just as soon not judge Shining Armor and Cadence until they actually appear in the show, but it wouldn't have hurt to have at some point had Twilight at least mention a brother offhand or something. Then again, who knows, maybe that'll come up in the next episode or something. Might be a good outlet for it. |

BTW (Same Anon) Princess Cadance and Shining Armor were originally made for Hasbro UK to tie into the Royal Wedding. Since the show is kinda about selling toys (live with it) they were written into the show. No worries. |

People freaking out because Twilight has a brother we've never heard about until now should take a deep breath, sit down, watch "Sisterhooves Social", and ruminate on the fact it took *this* far before we saw Rarity's and Sweetie's parents.
We still don't have any idea about the families of Fluttershy, Dash or Scootaloo, and the Apple parents are a mystery (although I think it's implied they are dead). The makers of MLP:FiM simply don't flesh this stuff out before it becomes relevant, thus keeping things open and flexible. |

The thing is, DHX has handled these product placements (The balloon, the train, the butterfly wings, etc...) so well, that I doubt they'll mess these 2 new characters up.
In fact... I think Pinkies welcoming wagon may have been a potential product, but the delivery of the scene had me blind to it until now. |

Well, its obvious he is in the millitary or whatever equestria has for a military. Way I see it, Twilight doesn't really approve of her brother's military ways/career. Thus, she hasn't mentioned it to any of her friends. However, I can't see this theory being the right one, but for now thats how I see it. |
