Yes yes, I know, “we’ve already heard this” “it’s over now” “let it go” but really, this can’t be said enough. I want every person to be completely aware of just how meritless and petty the claim that derpy is ableist is and how idiotically strict the standards for “ableism” are. I’m putting this here so I can quickly link to a demonstration of how unreasonable these people are. This is beyond derpy, this whole affair has me seriously frightened for society. I’m not continuing the drama in the delusion that it will get derpy restored, I’m taking a stand against something that needs to be stopped, and this is the battleground. I might not be able to change what happened, but I’m going to damn well make sure people remember it and do everything I can to prevent it from happening again.
(so sorry for saying “idiotically”, which according to the champions of the downtrodden is not just “ableist” but also a weapon of oppression (you would not believe how many times “oppression/oppressed/oppressive” comes up when talking to these people; I didn’t here it this much when talking about slavery in history class)) |

^ I sadly agree with Maroon, this debacle has made me distance myself from Derpy and nearly made me quit being a Brony. I beg everyone please let this wound heal and stop picking at it.
OP while your intentions are noble there also deluded, 90% of the fandom disagreed with Hasbros decision and to be honest this was something of a freak incident; you'd be hard pressed to find similar incidents like this after the late 1990's |

It was sad to see that none of you learned anything from this.
The Derpy Drama itself was very minor and just continued from the earlier "Derpy Drama". The counter drama of people telling everyone to shutup, move on with their lives, forget about cartoon horses and to tolerate and to apologize to the trolls was overblown. It was hideous, untolerable and just stupid. Dramaqueens were crying, yelling that they're going to quit because the fandom isnt what it was supposed to be. People went panic and started to apologize to obvious trolls. And the overall attitude was that none of you wanted to hear about it, because...? Then even more trolls picked up on the subject and you just caved in. Did any of you even understand why people were unhappy? An outside force, fan of the show, contacted Hasbro and made them change the scene. That is ugly. That is one fucking ugly act. |

I am also getting very worried about society at this point. It seems that entire sections of the dictionary is becoming taboo due to some kind of run away PC train calling themselves anti-ableists. At first I just thought these people were just a group of extremists, but to my horror this mindset is becoming more and more common.
And hey. I'm totally for everyone being treated equally. But the notion of these anti-ableists protecting disabled people jumped out the window way way back. |
