TL;DR version:

Dying Sucks

Every single time I see this part of this video, with little twilight's magic going crazy and celestia getting her to stop, immediately followed by older twilight standing with celestia, I just can't help but think about the fact that Twilight and company are aging, and one day will stop aging via death.

The same goes for stuff like Flutterwonder.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viTkj0eu-fk

These two videos just get me emotional I guess, and seeing little fluttershy here makes it all the more evident that she has aged, and she will continue to age, and one day she'll be old, and things won't be as easy, and then one day she'll die.

Fluttershy would eventually die, you guys. :(

Stupid powerful PMVs and videos, why do you make me think these things

As an Eternal Alicorn, her friends will never abandon her. They will be the power within the elements, their spirits to be wielded in times of trouble.

Her friends shall not abandon her, as Celestia's never did for her.

Although ask jappleack might be a catalyst to this kind of feeling what with the most recent story

alright... but do you feel sad about losing your parents one day?

I think because that's so much more unbearable to think about it's harder to be so immediately emotionally affected by the idea. That's going to happen, and saying that, I don't feel anything in particular, even though it will be awful. Like there's just some sort of mental block on the gravity of that kind of thing.

Because these are intangible creatures, I guess it's easier or something?

I cry at everything though, so maybe I am not the best gauge on this kind of thing. Very emotional about stuff.

There are 80,000 prostitutes in London alone and what are they, if not bloody sacrifices on the altar of monogamy?

The elements reside inside them, once they die the elements presumably move on to their storage spheres. Or the elements go away forever, not being needed any more.
They aren't quite the elements themselves, they just contain the elements.

I've teared up to the thought of stuff like this before. I'm also a wuss when it comes to these things. Although I've never fully worried about it.
Only one thing brings me to full frontal anxiety, and I'm not saying what that is, since it's not pony.

Also I suppose this is a variation on a common feeling people get from really good books, movies, games, etc

that feeling where it's over, and there iwll never be more to that individual piece of media you just experienced, and you can't stop thinking about it and you can't stop wishing that it never had to be over.

It's that feeling applied to a character, except before the whole "over" thing happens.

Ponibooru's front page needs to be a giant IM chatroom, just like Facepunch. That way we can have pony discussions while we watch the post feed.

Death comes to everything eventually. It's sad when it happens, but that gives more reason to enjoy the time that is left.

I have seen so much death I have stopped caring about things as much as I should. I like ponies for the fact that they are cartoons and can't just die on me, in 30 years I can still watch old reruns of this show and they won't be gone forever. If one of them dies I don't know what I would do.

Considering that Celestia/Luna are almost Physical Goddesses, I think it would be plausible that alicorns have at least some minor form of communication with the dead.

AppleDash, if one of them does end up dying, I will always think it's because they read the last part of your post and decided to be mega trolls.

Don't worry fuzzy Ponies go to heaven when they die.

Besides MLP is a franchise that has existed for nearly 26 years, Hasbro kept this franchise alive even when it was not even remotely profitable. I'm sure they will be referenced to in future generations of the show.

^ Only if your friends don't follow you. Then it would be totally sweet. Think of all the horrible mayhem you could cause, and no one could do shit.

...I mean, think of all the nice things you'd do for everyone!

But that's just it.

What if Twilight DID become some sort of goddess? She'd lose her friends. But what if they got a happy ending and could come along for the eternal ride as protectors of the world or something? They'd lose THEIR friends and family. Regardless, somebody is going to be screwed. :(

Everyone posting on this should read "Not My Destiny"

http://www.fimfiction.net/story/5035/Not-My-Destiny

Then decide which ending is best.

Except not the grimdark ending. That is the most vile piece of dark writing ever.
