I don't buy this theory From my recollection Twilight was restored to normal by reading the friendship reports Celestia sent her. The effect of Discord's magic seems to me to be one that merely suppresses the old personality in favor of the opposite and in the process suppresses memories that would run counter to the new personality. What Twilight did to restore her friends was not to rewrite her friends' memories but simply to bring those pre-existing memories back to the surface thereby breaking the dominance of the negative personality. Even if the Twilight was restored by reading reports written form her perspective those reports were based off of SHARED experiences.
