Considering how Pinkie reacted when she thought her friends had left her, and how Rarity reacted when she thought her sister no longer loved her; I think this is very in character.
Plus wouldn't you be hurt if one of your friends insulted your hobbies? |

Just a thought, but what if we would say, that "Putting your hoof down" is set before "Stare Master" maybe even before "Friendship is Magic (part 1)".
I found nothing in that episode, that speaks against it. Even Twilight Sparkel is absend. Pinkie Pie and Rarity knew each other before, too. Fluttershy could have developed her stare in this episode. |
