Rarity is only like this when a writer doesn't know how to write for her. Rarity is a balencing game when it comes to pulling off her personality and getting it wrong is basically what you see here. |

I don't know what the problem is. She was helping a friend, she didn't stole the asparagus, no one got hurt, and she knew it would have worked. She was being assertive in her own way, much like how Pinkie used her Bugs Bunny-logic to get the tomatoes, and how Fluttershy calmly explained to Iron Will why she didn't have to pay him. Besides, how else would have she acted? Being brutish is not her way of doing things, and whining is reserved for kidnappers dogs. |

The fact of the matter is that we NEED Rarity to act like this once in a while. Why? Cause she is the only one of the mane 6 that acknowledges that guys exist. In fact, didn't she do this flirting in episode 26?
Anyway, the fact of the matter is that the other 5 have no idea how to associate with males. Fluttershy is practically a hermit sometimes, and has no idea how to take a dive into romance. Applejack has shown...acknowledgement of romance while around Spike, but that's pretty much it. She would probably be the first to show interest in someone after Rarity. Twilight used to be so much of a social klutz she has never even considered boys. Her only female social experiment was that sleepover. Her only gushy moment was when she found out Rainbow Dash helped her get her cutie mark. Pinkie Pie? Well she's practically a adult on perm. child mode. If romance ever did cross her mind, it would be something embraced like any kind of fun: no holds barred. Pretty scary. Rainbow Dash? Heh, beyond maybe Soarin, good luck trying to find a guy that can make Rainbow Dash look feminine. I'm not saying its impossible, but its near impossible. |
