Artist note: The reason this picture looks this way is because while i was attempting to draw a background, I was sketching a tree behind some bushes on the left side and my friend thought I was drawing a mushroom cloud. After I realized i sucked at drawing, I just decided to give up and do random crap to this picture. I had just planned for them to be eating pizza. I am sad |

You shouldn't think that you suck at drawing. Sometimes drawings don't look the way you expect it to be, but it can still look awsome anyway |

No no no! I was glad to upload this. I'm not actually sad but just disappointed with drawing backgrounds because I have no experience drawing them. My friend and I were laughing for a while at how absurd and random this picture turned out to be. It's all cool. Sorry if i sent the wrong message. I'll axe the dumb tags to. |

Let me give you some constructive criticism:
1) You were on the right direction when it comes to drawing trees, as the mushroom cloud design works as a skeleton. After drawing the mushroom cloud lightly, add details such as leaves and the texture of the bark. Remember, like hair, you do not need to draw every leaf, just outline enough so that people get the general idea. 2) You need to improve on overall line quality. It's something that takes time, don't worry too much about it, just try your best. 3) Avoid the gradient tool. It just looks flat in the end. Instead use vector masks and slowly do it by hand. Try to give it a slight curve. Trust me it will look much better. 4) The facial expressions seem forced, I recommend drawing real life humans in public it try capturing the sublties of emotion. Learning realistic proportions is key to creating a cartoony style. 5) Unless you didn't put any effort into it, never call your work bad. Always try to improve upon your earlier attempts and learn from your mistakes. A good artist improves over time, a bad artist never changes. |
