The Flim Flam brothers aren't evil. They just made a bad decision when they knew they would lose. They just wanted to run a pefectly fine business where the Apple family wasn't in charge of production. Quite a reasonable thing to do if the supply of a product can't keep up due to poor production capabilities. They're kinda greedy, but not really evil. |

I wouldn't put the FlimFlam brothers or Iron Will in the same category as Gilda and Trixie, personally. Gilda was Rainbow Dash without her positive personality traits, Trixie was Twilight without her modesty, and Blueblood was Rarity without her positive traits. (I know Blueblood wasn't on here, but still.)
The FF brothers were just inventors that were also bad businessmen, and Iron Will is just a self-help guru who's a little too good at his job. Iron Will didn't actually mean any harm, and honestly he wasn't even a jerk; I think he was honestly trying to help people. |

All of the antagonists of this show get way too mcuh hate.
Trixie didn't do anything awful, the worst thing she did was deal with hecklers unprofessionally which is hardly a crime. Also, she tried to fight an Ursa even though she knew she couldn't beat it - pretty badass. Gilda was kind of a jerk, but she lost her best friend so I still feel bad for her. She'd probably turn out to be alright once you actually befriended her. Flim Flam Bros are the closest thing to actual antagonists (aside Nightmare Moon and Discord), but that's only for the scene where they laugh at the Apple Family's potential homelessness. Without that scene, they're relatively fair businessmen. Iron Will didn't even do anything wrong at all, and took his "defeat" like a man and left on reasonable terms with everyone. |

Actually they are all SHADOW ARCHETYPES rather than evil counterparts. They just have different core personalities while still sharing a couple of traits with the mane cast.
Gilda and Rainbow Dash: Both are proudful show offs, but the difference is that Rainbow Dash is okay with making new friends while Gilda only cares about Rainbow and is not okay with new people interfereing with their hangouts. Twilight and Trixie: Both have a variety of magic but Trixie is arrogant braggart who is not really as powerful as she claims to be. Applejack and Flim Flam Bros.: Applejack and the bros are both knowlegable in the business world, but the bros. don't care about other ponies and only see them as either business competitions or customers. Fluttershy and Iron Will: Iron Will is not a shadow archetype of Fluttershy, he was just her teacher and quite frankly thought she was using his assertive lessons against him to not pay him, but he did realize that she really wasn't satisified and his true to his word. |

I thought the DDogs were unique villains because compared to the others, they were the only ones that deliberately attacked the good guys. They held Rarity against her will.
Trixie - Not evil but arrogant. She didn't know her fans would lure a star bear into town. Gilda - Not evil but a jerk. It was all a misunderstanding that ended badly. A simple apology from her would have redeemed her in the same episode and could have become Pinkie's friend too. Flim Flams - If the Apples agreed to co-work with them in the first place, they wouldn't have needed to compete with each other. There was no deception in their original intentions at all. CDD and Iron Will aren't villains but their personalities were used on Pinkie and Fluttershy because they contrast each other. I also want to mention that Spike's antagonist might be himself in the form of Greed Spike. |

I always thought Diamond Dogs were Spike's evil counterpart. Neither of them are ponies, both want Rarity (though for different reasons) and both love gems. |

1091769: Actually Anonymouz, The Flim Flams were really bad in a sense that they were PURPOSELY trying to run the Apple Family out of Business. That deal they offer would've kept the family poor while they reaped all the profits, especially when making them poor would destroy their life in the long run. Also, they didn't seem to care that their product was bad anymore once they got what they needed. |

Gilda was more of a Pinkie Pie antagonist when you really think about it. Here's how I would (probably) do it.
Gilda - Pinkie Pie Trixie - Twilight Flim Flam - Applejack Iron Will - Fluttershy Blueblood - Rarity One of the Pegasus bullies - Rainbow Dash They're all jerkasses and in some way or another an antagonist, but none of them or evil (or even 'bad'). |

Iron Will's one fault was poor wording in his guarantee. Because obviously it worked, even when she toned it down and 'stood up to him' by saying she wasn't satisfied. If anything...Fluttershy was a bitch even at the end, whether she intended to be or not. :P |
