French politics. The woman is from the Front National, an extreme far right political party that is, among other things, incredibly racist. Translation (literal):

Apparently, the racism charge is the same as that levied against Americans: if you're opposed to any form of immigration (including, in the US case, jumping the border), you're racist. There doesn't appear to be any other stance on the part of the FN which could be presented as racist otherwise. There is actually a much stronger case for anti-Semitism against the FN than simple racism. Beyond that, they appear to be "traditionally French" in character - authoritarian, nationalist, and populist. Which may also be where the anti-Semitism (rife in France until recent decades) comes from. |
