Seemed like a good idea in the heat of the moment. Listening to those assurances that everything was going to be alright really irked me. To quote from above, "it looks like we didn't hammer in our point enough." |

I'd like to, and perhaps it's just stubborness, but I have a hard time letting this go. This goes beyond Derpy, it's a betrayal of trust (and symbolic of a few other frustrations with modern society). I feel like if we drop it now, we're just pushing the conflict down the road. |

thing fade into the past. I'm not saying forget it but dwelling on it and fighting over events that have transpired and are final in this case is not the best course of action.

I still think Derpy can be salvaged.
I can't say it enough. Make her the equivalent of ponified Liam Neeson. "They took her voice, her eye, and her identity. She took their lives." And while I agree with Hasbro being a huge company and there being a miscommunication, holy shit is their reasoning behind the edit terrible. I'm not even going to go into that. What's done is done. So, Derpy. Start killing. |

I don't know why some people have such faith in Hasbro. They're just a business. They want to sell toys to little girls. Adult fans probably matter little to them. Even trying to make money off them would be a risky new thing they may not want to even try. |

This entire thing is the result of a fandom thinking they had a lot more say in what happens than they really do. I'd go on about companies and business and stuff but I'll probably be rebuffed with stories about how Derpy cured peoples cancer or something. Yes it's sad that they caved in to the whining, but it's nothing we can't recover from. People just need to chill. |3 |

Remember, guys, Hasbro/DHX *do not* legally own Derpy. It's the same reason they couldn't include Surprise, Firefly, and Posey- they don't have a trademark to the name (or even a copyright in Derpy's case).
This means that the situation is very much reversed; it's the fans who decide what Derpy is, and it's Hasbro and DHX who are making *fanfic* about *our* character. Strange, isn't it? But from that perspective, what their fanfic does or doesn't say has no bearing on the actual Derpy character. |

Derpy is what we, the fandom, made of her. Her canon name or voice aren't important, Hasbro can't take her from us. What's in stake here isn't Derpy, but our trust in Hasbro. Hasbro offered a hand in friendship by adding Derpy to the show, and pulled it back by taking her out like that without further explications. I've been trying to see Hasbro as more than a standard greedy giant corporation, but honestly, I've been having no success. |

Baked Bads
One day the oven was broken and Dinky decided to try to fix it. She had been tinkering with things around the house for a long time before this, and she jumped at the chance to do something worthwhile with her slowly developing skill. >ONE HOUR LATER< she unsuccessfully worked at the problem after about an hour. She thought to her self for a moment, analyzing the interior of the cold dark oven. She started messing around with the pilot light. suddenly the oven roared to life, it had gone into self cleaning mode. She couldn't feel it at first but soon the inside of the oven became warm. Dinky quickly started pushing at the oven door with her front hooves but the little filly realized she simply didn't have the strength to push the heavy door open. Soon, the oven's insides had become an inferno. Before long her hooves became singed and she could smell her mane being burned to the roots. Dinky cried in agony as the heat increased, hot pain engulfing her. The oven continued to roast her to death. when the oven had finally finished she was burnt crisp to the bone, covered in boiled fat and caked blood, she would never get her Engineering Cutie Mark. BECAUSE SHE WAS DEAD. >SEVERAL HOURS LATER< Derpy had come home after a long day's work and was ready for hugs from her most favorite filly in all of Equsetria. As she opened the door to her home, she could smell what was a mixture of smoke and something horrible like rotten fruit. She quickly ran into the kitchen to the source of the foul odor. The grey pony saw that it was coming from the oven. She lowered the oven door with her left hoof. Her crossed eyes widened and her mouth opened agape, tears rolled down her face. Derpy was more distraught than she had ever been in her entire life. THE END |
