Something has been on my mind recently about Rainbow Dash and Twilight.
The Power of Harmony that was used by Luna and Celestia, that was founded by the three ancestors of Twilight, Fluttershy and Applejack, is materialized in a purple energy very similar to twilight's power. Yet the true power of Harmony, which Celestia described as full potential of the Elements, is materialized by a resounding rainbow energy identical to Rainbow Dash's energy. Is it a coincidence that Twilight's Element of Magic was given strength by Rainbow Dash's powerful excess energy? |

And Rainbow Dash DID set the events that lead them all to being friends and thus realizing their destiny as Element wielders. |

There is indeed something unusual about Rainbow, not only in her role as a Bearer of Loyalty, but her life in general.
We have not yet seen another Pegasus demonstrate a level of power beyond cloud manipulation (except for fancy pyrotechnics from the Wonderbolts). Rainbow has created an "Atomic Rainboom", been the only pony in recent history to have landed a Sonic Rainboom, and she's travelled so fast that she's left flames in her wake. Then there is the fact that her first Rainboom set in motion the Mane 6 discovering their talents, and forged a connection between herself and her friends. It does make you wonder if there is/was a backstory being set up for Rainbow. |

Oooor it could be that Rainbow was used as a narrative vehicle to tie the different plotthreads together, with no deeper meaning than that? |
