I don't think so. One of the reasn of why the characters are so likeanle are because they're female. Care Bears are 85% male and honestly it's difficult to care about male characters in the same way. |

Guilty fact: I liked the My Little Pony pilot from before the series was made (didn't like the series though)
But I have never liked Care Bears; little fuzzy freaks sitting on clouds looking down on you, passing judgment, and insisting you get along and join the crowd; and if you refuse they brainwash you with psychodelic drug beams (seriously, there is an episode where a kid is being bullied for being different, rather than make the bullies accept that people can be different, they harass the kid bullied to change and fit in so he wont be bullied...WTF? |

As far as I can remember, Care Bears had some pretty bitchin' antagonists. I love it when the villains are vile in a candy-coated show, like with Tirek and G1. |

The Care Bears repeatedly used the "Care Bear Countdown" on their pathetic version of Nightmare Moon type of antagonist *cough* No-Heart every time he appears only fail attempt after attempt as an excuse drag on the series.
I also vaguely remembered an episode from childhood where No-Heart created a rain cloud that turns the bears "Discorded" when the rain showered on them. |

You know what is funny? I am probably the most laid back brony on this board regarding the entire CB vs Pony subject with the latest post. In fact I think I may be the only one who would like to see the CB actually succeed once with an own succesful show. Mind the following two facts: with succesful show I don`t mean the obvious "gotta share, gotta care and everything is happy rainbows" CGI crap they want to bring up in a few weeks, nor was I ever a fan of the real CB deal. Why? Because even as a 3 year old I got how utterly girly that show was and how pathetic the characters were with their goody two shoes attitude. But let`S face it, the same could be said about MLP before FiM.
Seriously, I watched up the G1 show, I don`t get what everyone praises here and there about it. The special with Tirek is okay, the show itself was crap. Even the villains sucked and are only in regard of design choices a bit interesting. But I digress. So yeah, MLP sucked before FiM and CB sucks. And the last one I think is kinda sad, because if MLP managed to become entertaining, why shouldn`t the CBs become it on their own? If there was someone actually worth his money to write them, they could on their own at least become decent enough. Unfortunately this would also rely mostly on a lot of lampshadehanging humor if you ask me |
