There's some automatic registry-editing thingy you can download to fix this. Be careful, though - you don't want to mess around with the Windows registry if you aren't absolutely sure what you're doing. |

Wingbeat is correct, and I highly recommend not doing it if you are not sure what you are doing. The wrong change can cause problems to Windows, and if you do not have a way to restore, or a complete backup of the system, have fun reinstalling everything. |

I have mine set to downloading updates automagically but not installing anything until I tell it to or shut off my computer. And that's an option in Windows Update itself. |
