Statistically speaking, the actual number of fans of the periphery demography who actually go to such lengths, and do act like the strawman they're usually portrayed as, is roughly speaking 0.1%. Far smaller than the actual number people mention. Finding them is incredibly easy since their loud and are as subtle as Michael Bay's explosions. And yes, that happens to include the Derpy Drama as well. I have yet to see a number of offended people that goes beyond two digits. |

@iliveunderyourbed: First of all, those who thought Derpy was offensive must have been watching a different show if they thought that was offensive when compared to blatantly more offensive stereotypes. Not that Derpy was one anyways. And actually, they did. It just happened that it could have been a snowball effect. Suddenly one "moralfag" says it, it starts to catch on, and even though there's an astounding hypocrisy from a good number Not to mention that, once again, the people who still let it get to them are now a small handful, and most of those who previously vowed to try to keep Derpy had done so in a civilized manner. The people who acted immaturely where only a small bunch of people who did nothing to help the image of the painted strawmen of their respective sides. You should get educated a bit more before jumping to conclusions. |

I don't really think that's necessarily the case. Most people tend to ignore trolls nowadays as far as what I see. Then again, most of the fandom is pretty insular to their own sites and videos now. >I just hate most of the fandom I guess. Most. I'm sorry to say, I hate it when people say that. The vast majority of the fandom of ANYTHING are not the rabid few. Compared to the potential millions of overall MLP FIM viewers in the world, this fandom's quibbles is not as big as everybody makes it out to be. The Derpy thing is ugly and all, but it doesn't really weigh down on the vast, vast majority who hasn't really taken much of a stance about it. The few who do quibbled about it are the minority. This is why it's so infuriating for people. That the small minority would do this for the cartoon. It could be Hasbro changing things from their corporate point of view as well. So it's kind of ridiculous to me when people pass judgment on the ENTIRE fandom just because of a small segment of a fandom getting into the discussion about Derpy. Let alone the smaller number still making a big deal out of nothing in this show. I won't tell you what to think, but I just think people are jumping the gun too much on the fandom. This fandom is way stronger than people are lead to believe. |
