I know a vegetarian who frequently eats meat-substitute burgers, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the same goes for hotdogs. |

The answer to why a vegitarian species would have a hotdog substitute is the same as why a hooved species would have finger holes in their bowling balls, handles on their doors, and tires in their fossil record. |
