Won't happen.
By editing the episode, they admitted making what they consider to be a mistake. They will want to sweep it under the rug as much as possible. Be glad the internet makes suppressing the original version impossible. If it were 20 years ago Derpy would be lost forever. |

OP here. I'm assuming that Hasbro caved in to the pressure to change it, thinking that the people who complained were more numerous then they really were, and now they're regretting the backlash. This would solve their problems. |

Having read the most recent bit of info posted on EqD, the following picture was painted for me: Hasbro reacted the best way they could: They contacted the writer of the episode and tried to work things out. The writer couldn't decide, and ultimately, they went the safest route: remove everything that had been complained about.
There are so many what-ifs here. If they'd left the name "Ditzy Doo," as it was in the original script, you can bet there'd be an even bigger outcry. If they'd done nothing, then they risked getting sued by one of the offended viewers. No solution is the perfect solution, but I'm hoping it can be resolved gracefully and openly. |

My personal recommendation, if someone can back me up on this rumor, is to buy the Friendship Express DVD with the unedited episode on it - who knows how long that'll be available.
Doing this is good for several reasons. First, you'll have the Derpy moment saved forever. Second, it's a legitimate way to get the original without pirating. Third, you'll be showing your support monetarily - which could speak volumes to Hasbro, especially if there's a significant difference in sales compared to other DVDs or the edited iTunes episode. And in a way, it's exactly what OP was asking for. |

@Wingbeat: What rumor is that? Are you just looking for confirmation that the Derpy moment is retained in the DVD? I can confidently confirm that, as it was the first thing I checked upon purchase Tuesday. On the disc, our Derpy is safe and shall be forever preserved. |
