Someone needs to include this in a Trixie fic.
She is convinced she has a Twilight doll who is her best friend. And someone tries to help her through her delusion and gets her to meet people. |

That's part of the whole tragedy, though, Pomf. It's not a delusion, she knows it's just a doll. She's too afraid and ashamed to try and make real friends, let alone return to Ponyville and confront Twilight herself, so she bought a doll. She tries to convince herself that it's enough, but, well... It's not working.
She wants to, desperately, but she's so emotionally broken that she cannot muster up the confidence to try and understand other ponies enough to befriend them. Her identity is pretty much a lie, and she has lived that lie for so long that it's all she knows, and she is no longer capable of understanding the emotions of others.
