I don't think Fluttershy, or anyone of the manes, are teens. They must be in their 20s by human standars, so FS should be having a normal angst. Or maybe a quarter life crisis or something. |

There age isn't really defined. Their maturity also seems to jump around from episode to episode.
All we know is Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie Pie. |

I see Fluttershy as being 19-20 years old, Pinkie being 1 year younger of course, RD being slightly younger than Flutters, Twilight slightly older, AJ being 21-22 and Rarity 22-23. |

Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack are so immature it's very unlikely any of them are adults. Fluttershy and Rarity could be anything by their maturity, but I doubt Fluttershy being only a year older than "OMG THAT STRIPED PONY IS A WITCH, here's a song about it" means she's an adult.
Considering wat the CMC get away with as far as adult supervision, it seems that ponies are highly independent from an early age. Fluttershy as a teen certainly works. |
