The way Ashleigh said RD's original lines, I can see how people would think it's an insult. And Tabitha screwing up the voice really didn't help matters.
Remember, we are the minority of the fans for this show. Hasbro's bread and butter still is and will always be little girls (and their parents who have the money to spend on toys, and tend to be less picky than us). Also remember most parents are lazy morons who don't want to be held accountable for the crappy job they're doing, and want to "protect" their precious little snowflakes from the big bad world and flip out at anything they deem less than 100% pure. I'm annoyed at Hasbro for doing what they did, but I can't say I really blame them. The last thing any company wants is some pissed-off soccer moms threatening a boycott or bullshit lawsuit, and likely spouting off their mouths to the even dumber media. Also agree with Impious's comment. Hasbro's actions do imply that less-than-perfect ponies aren't wanted, which is a pretty bad (and kind of offensive) precedent to set for a kids' show. |

Hasbro should learn from this and just be freaking hands off with creator content in Studio B.
Besides, it is beyond ridiculous to take insult so seriously from a cartoon. Plus, then there's also that Billy Crystal 'controversy' nonsense in the Oscars. Reminds me that whiny bitches on the internet should not even have a voice. |
