I never considered Derpy any kind of mentally disabled. Clumsy, a bit unlucky if anything.
I figured her eyes were just expressive, like normally they'd be straight, but she'd derp when she got excited. The problem is that the combination of emotion and derp makes for some pretty funny faces, which is why everyone laughs at her. |
