Well, pink princess weddings are a way of being a girl. Every episode ever can't just be anything that's not pink and girly. |

Hasbro always wanted a typical girl's cartoon to sell their toys. It's why they insisted on a fashion pony and a princess instead of a queen.
Now they've gotten rid of Faust, it should be expected that it becomes even more commercialized. |

I have a feeling that Hasbro said "we want this pink princess in the show" and the writers looked at her and started laughing maniacally while rubbing their hands together.
I still love how they took the magical fairytale ball where everypony's dreams were going to come true in the season finale and COMPLETELY subverted it. I'm staying optimistic about Cadence. |

Hasbro does seem to have more smart than a normal money grumping company
Like they wanted a fashion pony but they never told Faust or the writers how to write her, so we have Rarity who makes dresses rather than run around shopping like every other fashion type. Cadence might end up being a spacely odd ball kinda like how Celestia is calm and laided back, and Luna is hot head and regal |

Completely outlandishly insane about pink and girly but also a super-genius. BFF prospects: Derpy and Rarity (and the bridge between them both), possibly Cheerilee and Sweetie Belle too. May also randomly engage Granny Smith in agricultural queries. |
