Looks like an alternate take on them- "Elements of Discord", after all?- also, note "Dusk's" cutiemark- two gears. |

Because they're not the mane 6, but more like 'anti versions' of them. Rainbow's anti version is also male if you look at the red one on the right.
All will be explained if you read the fic, which as the tag says, is called elements of discord. |
