It is sad that after the creator went some lenghts to actually include a fanbase based character in the show, so many people invent ways the character can be seen as offensive and make such a fuss they have to back down.
It is really sad when an anonym group filled with hate stands between the producers and the fans. |

So b4 the guys come in and tell us to stop venting over this, I have to point out one thing. If two groups exist and group A claims a thing or in this case a character is offensive and politically in-correct and group B claims it isn't the media will always, ALWAYS side with group A. So the whiners will always have a weapon we wont, the media hammer or you know that other thing, frivolous lawsuits.
So if you think about it Hasbro/Studio B really had no choice. They don't want to change Derpy, but if they don't one of these facist soccer moms will either take them to court or bombard a newspaper with letters about how Hasbro refused to remove a character that is "offensive" until one gets printed. |

A person who is offended will only go to the lengths that it is convenient to get what they see removed. Are they going to go to derpchan and try to get the origin of Derpy removed too? |
