It's not near as bad as everyone, especially that hater makes it out to be. Coloring the hair and showing off the cutie marks, etc matters a lot. Plus, it's always some commissioned art to dress up the Mane 6. It's not the 'sameface'. It's just JJ using the same ponies. hurrrrrrr |

There are no 'worshipers' Cipher. Most of his drawings are impressive in that he takes like 6 minutes per sketch. And seriously? Whining about sketches that us not even lineworked? Wooberjig, it is not like the artist does not draw ponies. In fact, his output is high in every type of stuff he draws. Having opinions are fine. But the haters making a personal attack on the artists is not legitimate. At all. It is not even about liking an artist. This is an imageboard and it is all fan material. If people like an art or artist, it is not hurting anyone. Other wonkier art in this fandom does not get this drama. The reasoning is probably that people just like to bash anything popular. While I love onions, I think JJ always does an incredible job since he does it just for fun. The point of his sketches is not the quality of the art - which is quite good, actually - but catching the soul of the characters and the hilarity of the situations.
Lamenting that he always draws the same face is really whining. Don't forget that it's all based on a cartoon like MLP where all characters look the same, except for the mane, and we're are talking about, you know, sketches... |
