Real sorry about that wall of text, I didn’t think my ideas would take so many words to explain.
I encourage you to give it a good read, though I realize it’s long. The TL:DR at the end kind of summarizes it all, but it’d be best if you read the whole thing. When you have time, that is.

And, y’know, go ahead and tear it to shreds if you want… This is just an idea to a solution to our problems as Bronies from a fellow brony. I don’t claim to have any sort of say or role in directing the ways of our fandom.
Just if you do tear it apart, at least be a little gentle with it. Realizing your views are wrong, for good or bad reasons, is a pretty painful thing.

And yes, I realize many of us may be over the obvious issues that are somewhat referenced in this, or simply do not give a fuck, but this kind of extends to any other issue that gets thrown our way as well.

I agree, we really should show our appreciation to Studio B. It's a unfortunate thing that has happened, but we need to show that we still love the show and everyone involved in it. Let's just do what we do best: love and tolerate.
Bronies lead the way to a brighter tomorrow!

iTunes, not Hasbro, is the suspected culprit.

Call it "Forget and Forgive". In opposition to those with a "never forget, never forgive" mentality.

But iTunes is just the distributor. Hasbro tells them what they want to have happen with the way their episodes are distributed. Though iTunes can and has made decisions on their own, if those decisions conflicted with the way Hasbro wanted things in any way, they would be taken care of.
I'm not saying Hasbro is entirely to blame, just that if we were to take any sort of action, going to them would probably be the best place to start.

See my username? tl;dr's aren't a bad thing. Or so I say.

Anyway, I don't like placing blame anywhere, because I'm one of the few bronies who think that this was the right move, and that all parties have a point.

But like Kreoss said, I'm disappointed in how bronies went about this. And yet, I expected this in a way. I thought that bronies were different from the Anonymous mass I've lurked and saw in various forums and imageboards. The claim to fame of Bronydom drew me in (along with the show,) but I've come to learn that many aren't that different. Many are still calm and collected human beings that can see all sides of an issue. I think this will appeal to those bronies, and Hasbro relevant parties will likely pay more attention to those fans who keep these tenets in mind.

Anyway, I disagree that Hasbro made a mistake. They did what they needed to do as a corporation. But if action is taken, I think adding praise and forgiveness would be awesome. Encourage what we believe is quality and "right," and to kindly discourage what we feel is "wrong" or unappealing.

They didn't HAVE to put Derpy in there.

^Exactly.
But they did.
And then took her away.
They need to make up their minds, who they're trying to appeal to.

I'm so friggin tired of this, but here goes.

I think you're waay overromanticizing this, and preaching to the choir. You're acting like we're still a small group that can have universal rules. We're not, and that's part of what's causing much of the conflict.

We have to deal with our old unsavory element from days old (the ones with the 4chan mentality: spammers, people who find conflict to be "lol", people with entitlement issues who think they're internet revolutionaries, and the like). We also have acquired a lot of newcomers who aren't bronies in the traditional sense, but are still audience. Younger kids, hanger ons, people who are receivers of the memes but do not create them, people who have little knowledge about how the show works and often act stupid unintentionally because they do not know better.

If we continue to be "broinies" we ave to deal with the fact that thee people are just as numerous as us, and will always be grouped togteher with us. I cringe every time someone, @Verbose but anyone else, tries to treat the fans as if they were a choerent entity, but it can not be helped.

If you want to propose a new paradigm of bronydom, make a good suggestion on how to deal with this.

Or people could just like I don't know get over things and stop acting like idiots.

I'm honestly getting tired of the continuous bullshit this fandom is producing.

"Or people could just like I don't know get over things and stop acting like idiots. "

But we mostly are. I don't get why people are so quick to turn on the fandom when the vast majority are pretty cool about this. Especially when this is pretty much one of the worst retcons in cartooning I've ever seen. If people are angry, they have all the right to.

Besides, I don't see how it really gets any worse. They could have edited Derpy out entirely but they didn't go that far.

 Just be cool about it.

The funny thing is that this isn't even supposed to be about all the Derpy Drama. That's the current scenario, so I used that, but overall this is an idea to try to strengthen Brony ties.

And Vree, the solution to that is pretty much this. Those that are able to think and act in this sort of way will have closer ties to one another and be more fit to call themselves "Bronies". Anyone unable to, while still being able to call themselves a Brony and whatnot, will not have the same closeness to each other as those that can do this.
It's not supposed to be a way of grouping, stereotyping, or segregating "true" bronies from "false" bronies or something, as you seem to suggest wanting to do. It's more of, those that can do this will be better off, so we might as well start on this now so we can be better off sooner.

"pretty much one of the worst retcons in cartooning I've ever seen."

Oh wow. They slightly changed one gag on a single secondary medium. People are being irrational and acting like they own Derpy and that they own MLP and that changing anything, no matter how small is like killing their parents.

"suggest how you make that happen."

I can only see one way to make it happen. That way would to axe the "love and tolerance" mantra. I'm not saying we should all start acting like pricks, but that we should recognize dumbassery and tell people to stop it. We need to call these people out, not tolerate it. We have to set a standard that states that if you act like an idiot, we're gonna call you out.

>Oh wow. They slightly changed one gag on a single secondary medium. People are being irrational and acting like they own Derpy and that they own MLP and that changing anything, no matter how small is like killing their parents.

Look who is blowing up the the drama.... The thing isn't really about Derpy that's worrying. It's the meddling and retconning. All those Star Wars fans being irked by Lucas is the same deal. Though that's more 'logical' considering Lucas is an artless, selfish prick who feel he can meddle in anything that is his without any thought to the fans.

Studio B is not at fault that much is clear. It's not about taking it in context to other real life issues. Stop getting off topic just so you get the jollies for it. This is a fan issue and fans should rightfully be pretty pissed off that the cartoon is being messed around by outside influences. Again, this isn't about Derpy at its core. Nor is it about comparing real life issues to a cartoon. We get it.

Vree makes a good point. Too many people are trained, I guess is the appropriate word, to be assholes on the internet because that is what they think is expected and what is acceptable. That is how they protect themselves and that is how they think being part of the larger internet community is suppose to be. We see it all too often here, both with anons and with new users. Calm down boys, we ain't gonna bite ya.
