I like the new Derpy voice (now just try that voice with acting), and I'm not terribly broken up that they deleted Derpy's name. I was more shocked they threw it in in the first place.
It's the fact that they underped her eyes that really boils my grits. Where's it gonna end, Hasbro? The pessimists among us already expect Derpy to be completely gone from Season 3. No cameos, nothing. But then what? Are you going to pull the other thirty-something episodes where she's derped (1, 15, 16, etc) off of iTunes and force Studio B to "fix" those too?! You gonna go on the DMCA warpath to try and stop us from reminding everyone that Derpy exists? At this point, I wouldn't put it past them if they're so ready and willing to censor Last Roundup. Where will it end? |

That's what this is really about. It's about censorship. It's about rewriting history and pretending it doesn't exist. It's about Hasbro caving to what I can only assume is a tiny minority of overly-protective paragons of political correctness. Now normally I don't buy the slippery slope argument. Usually it's a fallacy. But when it comes to censorship, it applies. If Hasbro censors one thing without vocal opposition, they'll think they can get away with censoring more and more the minute any soccer mom with an email account complains. And as to the OP picture, I like it. Who knew _____ had cat ears. |
