Yarly. I wouldn't mind all the bg ponies being brought forwards a bit eventually. Show it to be a real thriving community, everyone with their own little specialties and such, maybe some crazy eccentric bohemian/beatnik ponies ala the hoarders you see on American Pickers, stuff like that. (Hey, hooves work a lot better on drums than hands, perfect natural shape!)
In fact speaking of pickers you could keep it related to the main6 by maybe Rarity commissions Raindrops and Merry to search through these 'lost fields of junk' for inspirational materials and no-longer-trendy gemstones which she makes popular once more through her designs, and she also tasks them to buy old books for Twilight. Eventually towards the end of the episode they bring Derpy and Dizzy in for collecting heavier objects, and Derpy displays great agility and poise when concentrating *eyes go 'correct'* after Raindrops drops some vases, but then after saving them from crashing into the ground, she tumbles backwards into the cart after her eyes go back to normal. Then they drop by the rest of the main 6 with little gifts they picked up for everyone else while searching for Rarity's swag. Also maybe some hints as to Rarity being as as respected/important to Ponyville as the Apples, since her designs are all the rage in richer areas of Equestria. |
