Most likely some kind of a weird Cable TV or Apple politics for all we know.
Maybe even FCC. Who knows? Blaming fans and animators shouldn't happen. Maybe some of the fringe whiny fans contributed to some of it, but it's just a bad situation. We shouldn't be condemning Studio B or maybe even Hasbro until we know for sure. But even then, people should try to support so the show can at least go on. And hope they don't keep messing with the creators' content in the future. |

They complain not for her well-being entirely, they are complaining about her place among Canon. Even if she is wiped clean from the slate of Equestria, people will still remember her, they will still draw her, they just will not forget how Hasbro removed her. Your points are correct, but isn't that with every character? Every ideas' livelihood depends on their fans, otherwise they would not have any intention to exist. |

That was the point, which explains her position in the original "The Last Roundup". As far as I am concerned, I am on the same side as you, and you are not actually disagreeing with me. What I am trying to say is that as long as we still love Derpy, she will still exist, because that's the way media works. I am trying to weaken both sides with my argument, some people may not know what the complainers are actually complaining about, so I explained it. People who want to stop the drama? I completely agree, but the whole thing is a paradox if you wish to completely wash out the complaints. |

Entitlement? Sure. I kept getting the feeling people were getting too confrontational about 'favorite ponies' or even 'which episode was better' and it just kept escalating in comments in some sites.
But again, we don't know if this is only from the honchos at Hasbro or Apple or if all that seriousness and negativity of fans or even some parents/politically-correct-nutjobs are to blame. Overall, I still think this fandom is very smart and have a lot of depth to it. We can most likely get through this. It will be bittersweet, but we can do it. |

The issue is someone making a statement without backing it up, and chances are such statements have been made by random people all over the brony community, and chances are, (because of our great numbers) that some of us bronies actually believe that kind of shit.

The "Entitlement" aspect is that Hasbro never had to put in Derpy to start. They are not making this show for us, the bronies. They are making it to sell toys to little girls.
But they put it in as a nice nod. And people went ballastic due to the voice. So they had to respond (whom exactly, don't know yet) and changed that, and the fans are still going ballastic because of this change. Hasbro is not beholden to the fans here. They have to do what is best for selling pony toys. If that means stripping Derpy to a less-Derped form, that's their perogative. It would be far different if they took Rarity and made her a shopaholic instead of a fashionestia, totally taking an established character into something different. There are those old enough that appreciate the older seasons of the Simpsons, and when they started to take it into a new direction (by new creative staff, natch) by making Homer a dimwitted baffoon instead of a cranky, not-so-smart father, among other issues, we voiced our issues with that long-change characterization ruining. How did they respond? "The Itchy, Scratchy, and Poochie Show", basically telling older fans to fuck themselves. Hasbro's not done anything like this, thank goodness. They took a background issue that caused a stir and toned it done, but still clearly a nod to the fans. They didn't *KILL* Derpy as so many are complaining about. |

Kreoss is hardly a good source of comforting info, he works at the Philippines based topdraw. Those guys are pretty much just the animation grunts for DHX now. No creative input into the show what-so-ever. |
