My issue isn't why they did it, it's how they did it. They had a complete, finished product (the episode) that had already been consumed by the masses (through tv/Internet) that they essentially recalled due to relatively minor faults that in no way affected the overall storyline. If they did indeed get pressure from iTunes to change the episode you do not as a manufacturer say 'yes please alter my product to better serve your own individual needs even though we've already had plenty of success with it' you say 'f**k you very much' you take your product and you find another distributor (hint: There's more than just iTunes out there Hasbro). It also sends a very bad precedent for anything else in the show someone might find offensive. What about Hayseed from Sweet and Elite? His voice always makes me cringe when watching that episode. What about Snails? You've essentially given the consumer the very strong argument of "You changed this because we didn't like it, so change this this and this too because we also don't like it". It is simply something you do not do in any industry. |

I will give you an example: Lucas could very well have erased Jar Jar from existence in anything post-Phantom because of all the hate it received. He did not. Why? Because the character was more or less irrelevant to the overall story and there was no need to alter a product that already made millions regardless of a single character. Hasbro did the opposite. It sends a very very bad message. |

Just heard the new voice. It's horrible. I can't believe I woke up to this news.
Fucking ruined my weekend. What's worse? She's gonna have that "new voice" whenever she speaks in the future. ARGH! She was fine the way she was! Where the hell do I find someway to get them to change it back? |
