@MagicMarker: I usually try to remove all "we's" and replace with "I's" but In my haste I missed a few. =| I was only trying to show that I am not personally whining, but I also have a legitimate reason to be upset by this, and other people do too. Whining is another matter entirely. |

So you're saying that because someone decided to retcon the episode that it completely invalidates that emotional connection? That changing Derpy's voilce has completely overwritten the joy you felt when you first saw Studio B's gift to us? Studio B still loves us, that hasn't changed, though bitching and moaning about this and blowing it out of proportion might end up changing that. It'll be sad if all evidence of that love is removed from all official sources, but we still have the memories and the happy feelings from when we first saw that Studio B had gone and actually given us our favourite background pony. |

OP may not speak for the entire fandom, but he/she certainly speaks for me. If that makes me "butthurt", then I guess that's what I am. Really, I'm just sad and disappointed in this whole sequence of events (but not really surprised). I'm also strongly against political correctness in any form, and long before this show came into being I made it my life's goal to fight PC-ness wherever and whenever I could. TL;DR Studio B gave us a gift, and Hasbro and Apple took it away. |

That is not what I'm saying. I'm saying, like I said in the note, A love letter to us was ripped up. They still love us, but it still fucking hurts when somebody ruins a keepsake of that love, especially such a large, and important one. |

They gave Derpy a few lines in a sub-par episode. That's it. You can still watch those few lines on YouTube to re-live your joy. I'm shocked that they changed it too. But I'm not flipping my lid over it because I know I can just go re-watch it there. You're overreacting. Just like the people who overreacted to Derpy and got her taken down. tl;dr Cool your tits. @MagicMarker: That episode is actually one of my favorites because of pinkie pie's moments. She was hilarious. It was far from sub par, you don't need to flip your lid and insult the episode because you strongly disagree with people's opinions. |

The episode itself was simple and easy to figure out for anyone over the age of six. Pinkie Pie being awesome and Derpy Hooves talking aren't enough to make an episode of what's supposed to be a children's cartoon any better than it honestly was. @magicmarker: Every episode is very easy to figure out for everypony over the age of six. I've never once been surprised by the final outcome of an episode. What makes episodes awesome and special is how the characters interact, and their lines. Because the characters are so dynamic, and what makes the show so great. THEY are intelligently written, the overall plot of the episodes are pretty standard. So i'd say great pinkie pie moments DO make an episode good. |

Now that I'm fully calm and collected. Let me give my 2 cents on this.
I am upset that what was given to us was formally taken away. (not physically, but the idea of it is there) But if they REALLY feel this was necessary than whatever. I will buy my season box sets in the future, when they hopefully come out. and pop in friendship express purely to watch this episode in its intended form. It's sad, but oh well. We will all always remember the time. |

@MagicMarker The Derpy scene notwithstanding, I really liked "The Last Roundup". It's definitely in my top 5 for this season even without That Scene. Sure, I totally saw how everything was going to go plotwise even before the opening credits (AJ knocking the horizontal bar in training was a pretty damn big giveaway), but that doesn't change that I feel it was a really well-done episode.
I'm a huge fan of I Love Lucy, so I loved the shout out in the cherry factory. I loved Pinkie's overreactions and motor mouth scene. I thought the chase scene was very well done. I LOVED watching Pinkie slowly drive Rarity (my favourite pony) insane. And I actually wasn't a huge fan of Derpy's original voice; I thought it sounded too "Downs-y" (this was before we learned Tabitha accidentally voiced her as a boy). |

Last Roundup was an excellent ep; Derpy was just icing on a very yummy cake. To continue the analogy to the present day, now some wannabe Steve Jobs toadie dropped trou and teabagged the icing. I already got my slice weeks ago. And I could go get another cake any time I wanted. But now I can't go back and have seconds of this particular delicious cake without it tasting of scrotum. |
