Aren't you overreacting? I mean, the entire cast is new because of legal problems. Hasbro didn't own any of the rights to their characters, so they created new ones. It just goes to show how many legal problems there are around making a show like this. |

The reason I was bummed out about it was what started off as an accident was caught on by the fans and became endearing to the point where the character appeared a lot more often than similar characters would've. It was a shoutout to the fans who helped make the show (though probably not the toys) popular which has not only been undone, but worse, that someone on the staff might have gotten in trouble for it. |

This show pulled me out of it but now I feel the same depression trying to consume me again, and you want to egg me on and say I should kill myself? Fuck you. I know that you are in a dark place right now, but trust me, it gets better... I know how you feel, being depressed and feeling like the world is against you but... I've made friends since I've become a Brony and I'm upset about it too, but trust me, it gets better. Just go to bed and you'll feel better, it's been a rough night for all of us and I know I'm going to do the same too. I might take a break from the fandom but maybe I won't. @Professor I have problems. You have problems. Anon whatever has problems. But two things:
1) I don't talk about them on the internet. They're my problems, and I'm gonna solve them; or learn to deal with them. 2) The fact that a minor cartoon character (someone ficitional) got edited DOES NOT MEAN YOU GET TO THROW A HISSY FIT ABOUT IT. "Knees weak... fall to the ground... someone cut my strings." Seriously. You react like that to a loved one dying, and even then, you deal with it in PRIVATE. "Every man is an island, you're born alone, and you sure as hell die alone." So, yes. If you're that much of a nervous wreck that the minor edits to a cartoon character are forcing you to act this way, you should kill yourself. Because now imagine something serious happens. You'll be FUCKED. So, instead, to avoid further misery, it's better to end it now. And yes, I am completely serious when I say this. |

No, I don't personally know jack shit about psychology. Mainly because I'm a geneticist IRL. Or perhaps because I have problems socializing. Or maybe it's because my ex-girlfriend of 5 years died in a car crash, and I haven't been able to pick up a psychology book ever since. Or maybe, it's because my psychologist father took my Mrs. Buzzy toy, ripped her open, and stuffed her full of toast, and then made me write a 300-page essay about what I learned, and I DIDN'T LEARN ANYTHING! Or maybe it's because I don't actually care. Seriously, take a utilitarian POV. Would you rather suffer for your ~70 years of life; or would you rather not? I mean, it's one thing if you can solve/deal with your problems; but obviously OP can't. So, I'm just pointing out that there is a way out. Also, grats on your use of IQ as an argument. @#1056054: Even aside from the fact that I don't buy into utilitarianism to begin with you're making things out to be too black and white here. Just because a person has periods where they have trouble dealing with things doesn't mean that it's always going to be like that, or that they can't be helped. Not to mention depending on a person's state of mind they can view a seemingly minor issue in the same way they would a serious one, it doesn't always follow a rational scale. |

However, a death>misery, so, if you CAN'T deal, or won't deal, you should kill yourself. Because suffering sucks, and now imagine someone real died. The person would be so broken up about this. Otherwise, it looks like this person is being an attention horse. And had I wanted to, I could've feigned being someone with depression (Gods know, I have plenty to be depressed about), and had a circlejerk of misery. However, I genuinely do think that if you're not strong enough to survive, to take the things life throws at you... what's the point of living then? |

Op needs to go to bed. I wonder what time it is there? The Derpy thing sucks but it's easy to blow things way out of proportion when you're tired. So sleep, and when you get up take a big breath and remember it's just a cartoon. If you find yourself getting THIS upset, maybe stepping back from the community would be a GOOD idea? Try and get yourself a bit more reconnected to life and then maybe come back if you feel like it. It's a disapointment but the show and the community have so much going for it. |
