Are zebras considered earth ponies or are they in a category of their own?
I'm also wondering if there are other varieties of zebras such as Unicorns or Pegasi. |

They appear to posses cutie marks while other creatures such as Gryphons, Dragons, and Donkeys don't. |

Well, for starters Zebra is a type of horse. I doubt Gryphons and Dragons would get one before them.
Donkey's on the other hand are related to ponies so not sure why they were left out. It's still all good, maybe they're just blank flanks still waiting to receive their marks? |

Bisons and deers lack cutie marks as well. But for some reason some animals or other non-pony creatures are capable of speech while others, such as Winona and Opalescence are just...animals. And if gryphons can stand on cloudsdale then can dragons capable of flight do the same? |

Maybe it's not a cutie mark in the way Equestria ponies have cutie marks?
Some African tribes have been known to print tattoos of various meanings... I think. If this is true, then zebras simply create their cutie marks themselves. But instead of it being a representation of their "special talent", it could refer to their specif tribe or something... |
